The Nightingale has a storied history. It is renowned as a symbol of empathy, creativity and love. The ancient poets described the Nightingale as a poet in its own right; inspiring human beings with its powerful song. This symbolism encapsulates the philosophy of Nightingale Lawyers.
Firstly, a lawyer must be able empathise with their client. They must be able to see their client’s problem from their client’s perspective. Understanding their client and their real objectives is the foundation of good legal advice. In order to understand something you need to immerse yourself in it. A lawyer must look to developing their client’s trust and only then can they hope to a create strategy moving forward.
Next is creativity, in the articulation and communication of thought; both their client’s thoughts and the thought that drives the interpretation of the law. Creativity is a by-product of study and knowledge. No person can be creative without a deep understanding of their craft. A builder cannot construct a house without first knowing how to lay the foundations, then the frame and everything else that goes into making a sturdy home. A lawyer cannot hope to fix a problem or achieve an objective without understanding the foundations of the law, then how to frame their arguments and everything else that goes into achieving their client’s objectives.
Finally love, which drives the lawyer to overcome their client’s problem as if it were their own problem. A soldier does not fight for themselves. It is love that that inspires their will to fight. Love inspires a person to work hard for others.
This is what we believe at Nightingale Lawyers. This is how we approach our craft.
